Making a splash for Buddhist new year!

Mid-April marks the start of the new year in the Buddhist calendar – Songkhran in Thailand and Thingyan in Myanmar are two water-centred festivals where thousands gather to celebrate with family.

So, when Coca-Cola sought to bring the celebration of fresh starts, good food and family bonds to life with Ogilvy Australia, they looked no further than TDF’s Josephine Rais.

Expert in jovial hues and dynamic compositions, Josephine captured the spirit of these spring-time celebrations with two liquid-like illustrations that cleverly incorporated local references and the familial sentiment of the campaign.

On a petal pink background, swirling pockets of water and traditional floral blooms encircle moments of festivity as they gather round traditional festival meals.

Josephine’s play with perspective creates a delightfully dizzying composition that welcomes you in and engulfs you in the dream-like fluidity of the piece.
