Sneakers and basketball go together like Jordan and slam dunks; Steph Curry and the three-point line; Maxime Manga and graphic design.
Converse commissioned Maxime to create the artwork for its hoops-inspired All Star BB Prototype CX shoe – as well as daubing NBA and WNBA stars Draymond Green, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kelly Oubre Jr and Natasha Cloud in his trademark look. Think collage black-and-white portraits and action shots cut with layers of monochrome patterns and spray can-style starburst shades.
You don’t have to know your LeBrons from your Air Force 1s to appreciate Maxime’s work. When he’s not busy on commissions for Converse, you can find him doing stuff for Adidas, The New Yorker and The Academy (of Hollywood Oscars fame) – check it out here.
